HISTORY
Howard K. Stiles founded Stiles in 1951 as a general contracting firm focusing on residential construction. In 1971, Terry W. Stiles, son of the founder, became chief executive. Recognizing the potential for strong growth in South Florida’s business community, he focused on the commercial real estate sector, developing a portfolio of successful projects that helped redefine the South Florida landscape.
Terry Stiles also broadened and expanded the company’s real estate services to encompass the entire industry spectrum, including initial site selection, development, design, financing, construction, leasing and property management.
In 2000, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties recognized Stiles’ contributions to the region and industry leadership with its National Developer of the Year Award.
Among the company’s many other awards and honors are the Building Owners and Managers Association’s Building of the Year Award for the company’s headquarters at 300 Las Olas Place in Fort Lauderdale, Ernst and Young’s Best Real Estate Deals of the Year Award, five South Florida Developer of the Year Awards and the Associated Builders and Contractors Construction Business of the Year recognition.
Through its professionalism, financial strength and perseverance in changing markets, Stiles has continued to enhance its scope of services and today provides the highest quality of services in all aspects of commercial real estate.
